Children at Thaxted

Our church wants to welcome more families, children and newcomers. So one Sunday a month (normally the 4th) we have a rather more informal service, involving children in the service and providing lots for them to do. We would love you to come. Families and children very welcome. Refreshments follow the service.

Little Ladybirds is for Children (0 to pre-school) and their carers on Thursday mornings during term time. It runs from 9:30am until 11am in the Church Hall, Margaret Street (opposite the Doctors). It is a place for little ones to have fun, play with other children, take part in craft activities, sing songs and listen to stories. For parents and carers it is a chance to chat over a cup of tea. It costs £3 per family or £2 for just a baby in arms, which includes refreshments for adults and snacks for Children. At the rear of the Church we have a special place set aside for children and parents to sit and worship with us if they so choose. Many use it during the week as a private place to pray with their children. The corner has books and soft toys as well as appropriate seating and carpets. Usually, during services, trained members of the church will help parents and provide materials for the children. The Children’s Corner is always open.
